Peter Cook is an experienced financial services executive and professional economist whose career spans close to 40 years in business and government. For the last decade, he has managed both a management consulting firm and a company that specializes in treasury services for financial institutions. Prior to that he was the President and Chief Executive Officer of Citizens Trust Company and Chief Financial Officer of VanCity Savings Credit Union.

In addition to serving as a Director of the BC Safety Authority, he has also served as Director of various companies, community associations, foundations and professional organizations.

Peter is a graduate of the University of Victoria and the University of Western Ontario and completed the Stanford University Graduate School of Business executive program.

He is currently the Chair of the Board.

Richard Ballantyne

Richard Ballantyne is the President of a consulting practice providing business development and project execution advice to clients in the energy and marine terminal sectors. Prior to starting his consulting business, Richard was President of Terasen Pipelines and was previously President of Trans Mountain Pipe Line and held senior management positions at BC Gas Utility Ltd. He has served on several public, private and association Boards including Cimarron Engineering Ltd. and Canadian Hydro Developers Inc. and is a former Chair of the Canadian Energy Pipeline Association. Richard is a member of the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia, and the Institute of Corporate Directors.

Hoss Budde

Hoss Budde is the owner and President of Burnaby Manufacturing, a company engaged in the manufacturing of natural gas and propane products. Hoss’ past experience includes being a trustee of an industry medical plan for five years, member of the Gas Advisory Committee for 10 years, member of the Gas Technology Committee for five years, owner and President of a specialty wholesaler for the plumbing, heating and gas industries, editor of the Gas Journal for seven years and owner and President of a mechanical contracting company for 29 years. Hoss is also a holder of active Sheet Metal TQ, Class “B” and Class “A” Gasfitters licenses.

Brian Fehr

Brian Fehr is the president of the B.I.D. Group of Companies which specializes in providing services to the forestry and mining sectors, including, construction, fabrication and maintenance. Brian has been involved in the resource sector for over 30 years. Brian is the Past Chair of the Board for the BC Association for Crane Safety and a director on the boards of several other companies and organizations, including BC Jobs and Investment, ICBA and Baldy Hughes Therapeutic Community.

Hugh Gordon

Hugh Gordon, FCA, LL.D., was a tax partner with KPMG in Calgary, Toronto, Victoria and Vancouver. Hugh was the first member appointed to the Royal Roads University (“RRU”) Board of Governors and chaired the board and served as the university’s chancellor from RRU’s inception in July 1995 until his retirement from the board in September 2003. As well, he has consulted to the Government of British Columbia on various fiscal issues and as a negotiator, including acting as the Assistant Chief Negotiator for the province during the historic Nisga’a land claim and self-government negotiations. Hugh Gordon has served on civic, charitable and business boards and commissions, including the Greater Victoria Economic Development Commission, the Victoria Foundation, both the National and the B.C. and Yukon Division boards of the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award in Canada and the boards of B.C. Rail, the British Columbia Wine Authority and the University of Victoria. He is a recipient of the Queen’s Jubilee Medal in recognition of his service to the community.

Steve Lornie

Steve Lornie is a partner in Stonecroft Management Ltd., a North Vancouver-based construction management firm. Steve has spent most of his 40-year career in the construction industry as a company owner, building a substantial number of industrial, institutional, residential and commercial projects around the province. He and his wife also operate Okanagan Crush Pad Winery in Summerland BC. Steve currently chairs the Independent Contractors and Businesses Association and is on the boards of a number of private corporations.

Dan has worked as an industrial millwright in the public sector, and has held various senior positions with the Province of British Columbia including Premier, Deputy Premier, Minister of Energy, Mines and Petroleum Resources; Minister of Skills, Training and Labour; and Minister of Forests.

Dan Mott is an experienced executive in the electrical industry in British Columbia. Dan has significant experience in project management and business development and is a past Chair of the BC Construction Industry Training Organization and the Canadian Apprenticeship Forum. Dan is also a past President of the Electrical Contractors Association of B.C. Dan has 20 years experience on the Negotiating Committee of the Construction Labour Relations Association.

Alison Narod is a graduate of Osgoode Hall Law School (LL.B., 1982) and McGill University (B.A., Hons., 1975), and a member of the Law Society of British Columbia. Alison currently practices in the areas of labour and employment law, human rights, workers compensation, family and administrative law at the Vancouver law firm of Farris, Vaughan, Wills & Murphy LLP. Alison is currently a Disciplinary Panel Chair for the Investment Industry Regulatory Organization of Canada, a member of the Community Care and Assisted Living Appeal Board, a Director of ACT Autism Community Training Society and a member of the Canadian Bar Association (BC Branch).

Jo-Ann Panneton is a management consultant with extensive experience in continuous improvement and operational change management. She is Founder and President of New Media Design Group Inc. and a principal of the Stratcomm Group of Communications Strategists. Ms. Panneton is Chair of the Board of Wood Composite Technologies Inc., and a graduate of the University of British Columbia.

Janet Pau

She is currently serving on several boards including the University of British Columbia – Board of Governors, and the Canadian Employment Insurance Financing Board. Janet is a member of the Financial Executive Institute, the Institute of Corporate Directors and the Vancouver Society of Financial Analysts.
