Catherine Roome, President and Chief Executive Officer of the BC Safety Authority (BCSA), announced important additions to the BCSA executive team that is mandated with ensuring a robust safety system that is well-managed in BC.
“I am very pleased to announce that we have filled two vacancies on the BC Safety Authority’s executive leadership team,” says Roome. “Phil Gothe will be the new Vice President of Technical Programs, and Brian Rowland the new Vice President of Operations and Service Excellence.”
Gothe comes to his role from his previous position as Vice President, Stakeholder Engagement at the BCSA. He will now be the technical spokesperson for the Safety Authority, leading a new research function and building a network of exchange and analytics with other leading-edge technical organizations. These functions will help strengthen the BCSA's capacity to anticipate, measure, report and assist stakeholders in managing risks across seven regulated technology sectors.
Rowland will be filling a new position at the BCSA as Vice President, Operations and Service Excellence. Most recently Rowland was the Senior Director of Business Relationship Management and Solutions Design at Aeroplan, the world-recognized rewards program of Air Canada. In his new role, Rowland will have direct responsibility for delivering service excellence, revenue generation, and client and employee engagement. He will be counted on to strategically expand the business and successfully integrate new service lines into the Safety Authority's operations.
“I want to congratulate both Phil and Brian on their appointments and wish them success in their new roles at the BCSA,” says Roome. “There were a number of well-qualified candidates, but our two successful candidates stood out in the value they can add to the BCSA’s business and culture.”
