BC Safety Authority grants full unrestricted operating permit for Sea to Sky Gondola

New Westminster, BC, May 9, 2014—BC Safety Authority (BCSA) has removed all terms and conditions from an operating permit granted to Sea to Sky Gondola, a new public attraction located in Squamish, BC.

BCSA has concluded its investigation into an incident that occurred on February 4, 2014, at the Sea to Sky Gondola where an empty cabin fell to the ground after becoming detached from its cable. Following the investigation and implementation of safety enhancements, BCSA is satisfied that the Sea to Sky Gondola installation meets all required safety standards.
