BC Safety Authority reminds skiers and boarders to stay safe on chairlifts this winter

New Westminster, BC, November 19, 2014 — BC Safety Authority (BCSA) is advising British Columbians to have fun and stay safe on chairlifts as the ski season opens this winter. Every year, accidents and injuries involving lift equipment can be prevented if skiers and riders follow the safety rules and pay attention to signage.

New Westminster, BC, October 20, 2014—BC Safety Authority (BCSA) is pleased to announce the addition of Brian Simmers to their executive team as Vice President, Corporate Services and Chief Financial Officer.

Brian believes in a client-focused approach to business operations that integrates all areas of the organization.  He uses his passion, natural curiosity and focus to drive organizational growth.  As Vice President, Corporate Services and CFO, Brian leads a diverse team of financial and knowledge-based specialists all working towards a common goal of enhanced sustainability and technological excellence.  He recognizes that innovation arises from an inclusive, interdisciplinary approach which draws on the knowledge and skills of multiple teams and individuals.  As a technology executive with over 15 years of operational and financial experience in the telecommunications and mobile applications sector, Brian brings proven expertise in finance, operations, technology, sales and marketing to his role at BC Safety Authority.  Brian articled with KPMG LLP and is professionally qualified as a Chartered Professional Accountant in Canada and as a Certified Public Accountant in the United States.  He holds a Bachelor’s of Business Administration from Simon Fraser University.
