Enforcement - Details Compliance Orders A Compliance Order is a written document issued by a safety officer or safety manager stating that a person must take action, stop, or modify their work in accordance with safety standards and legislation. Most of the Compliance Orders issued during this time period were related to overdue non-compliances identified on a Certificate of Inspection. Compliance Orders by Technology Of the 70 Compliance Orders issued between July and September, here is the breakdown by technology: • Boiler/Pressure Vessels: 2 • Electrical: 42 • Elevating: 5 • Gas: 21
Suspension of Permit Privileges The number of Permit Privilege Suspensions marginally increased to four in this quarter as opposed to the three issued in the previous reporting period. In two of the four instances, Permit Privilege Suspensions were issued to one electrical contractor and one gas contractor who either failed to address a number of expired permits or failed to rectify non-compliant issues at prior installations.
In another case, an electrical contractor’s permit privileges were suspended until the contractor names a field safety representative; in the remaining case, a gas contractor’s permit privileges were suspended due to outstanding fees on the contractor’s account.
