Harry van Beest (Chair), Surrey – Harry is the Assistant Business Manager for the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local 213.
Bill Strain (Vice Chair), Surrey – Bill has been working as an electrical contractor for 37 years, with the past 33 years spent with Villa Electric Ltd. He is a member of numerous associations including the Canadian Home Builders Association, in which he was the past president of all three tiers (local, provincial and national), as well as holding Board positions with the Electrical Contractors Association of BC and Electrical Inspectors of BC.
Ben Barker, Coquitlam – Ben is the Director of Engineering and Quality Manager for Quality Auditing Institute Ltd. (QAI), which is a Standards Council of Canada accredited Certification and Inspection body. He is a member of the Electrical Contractors Association of BC, the International Association of Electrical Inspectors and the Electrical Inspectors Association of BC.
Steve Dyck, Chilliwack – Steve is the President and CEO of C&S Electric Ltd. He has been in this role since 2002 but has been working in the electrical trade for almost 18 years. He is a member of the Better Business Bureau.
Nathan Gurvich, Vancouver – Nathan has been working at Shaw Cablesystems for the past four years. He began as a Planner, New Development until 2009, when he became a Senior Planner, New Development. Prior to this person, he worked as a Quality Inspector/Sampler with Certispec Services. He is a member of the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of BC (Engineer-in-Training) and has been an alternate representative on the Electrical Technology Advisory Committee for the past two years.
Mark Kelvin, Vancouver – Mark has been working in the electrical engineering field since 1978. He is currently a senior engineer with BC Hydro, having been in this position since 2006. Before that, he worked as a Senior Engineer for Beaver Electrical Machinery Ltd. He holds a Class A license with the BC Safety Authority and is a member of the Association of Professional Engineers and Geologists of BC.
Nick Leforte, Surrey – Nick has been working as a local Safety Manager for the City of Surrey since 2008. Before he held this position, he worked as an IT Manager for Intertek Testing Services based in Geneva, Switzerland. For eight years Nick has managed an assortment of IT initiatives throughout various locations ending in 2008. He is the Vice President of the Electrical Inspectors Association of BC and is a member on the Technical Standards Committee- Section 10, as well as C64100 Wind Turbines Committee of the Canadian Standards Association.
Deanna Littlejohn, Nanaimo – Deanna has been working in the electrical field since 1978, with a diversity of experience. She is a Red Seal ticketed electrician with her A FSR, has completed the Provincial Instructors Diploma and is an active member of the Electrical Articulation Committee. Currently, she is the Chair and an Instructor of the Electrical Program at Vancouver Island University. Before she began this role, she worked as a maintenance electrician within the university, worked for the Department of National Defense at the Cold Lake Air Force Base and in the oil field industry for Vulcan Electric. She is a member of the Canadian Standards Association Part 2, as well Leadership BC and the Society of Vocational Instructors.
Eddie Low, Burnaby - Eddie has worked for TELUS since September 2000.
Jim Mummery, Prince George – Jim has been the manager for Skeena Power Systems Ltd. from June 2007 to the present day. Prior to this position, he worked as a Project Manager and Supervisor for Lakewood Electric Ltd. for four years.
Seth Nair, Richmond – Seth works as an Engineer for WorkSafeBC.
