Committee Members

Dan Bradley (Chair), Vancouver – Dan is an Energy Technology Specialist for FortisBC (formerly Terasen Gas). He is a member of the ASTTBC, BC Institute of Power Engineers and American Society of Heating, Refrigeration, and Air Conditioning Engineers. He has 15 years of experience and trade qualifications in refrigeration, gas fitting, power engineering and electrical.

Bob Bush, Calgary, AB – The Western Regional Director of the Canadian Propane Association, Bob was previously a long-standing member of the former Propane Gas Association of Canada. He has worked in the propane industry for 35 years in various capacities, with experience in residential and major industrial operations requiring propane installation, vessels and supply, and development of safety programs.

Ian Chang, Coquitlam – Ian is a Regional Quality Manager (Canada/Building Products) at Intertek, where he has worked for over 18 years in product testing and certification services. He is a registered Professional Engineer with APEGBC, and is member of a number of North American plumbing standards committees.

Russ Johnson, Port Coquitlam – Russ began his gas fitter apprenticeship in the United Kingdom, where he was also greatly involved with the conversion of the east Midlands from coal gas to natural gas. He is the owner of RJ Gas Ltd, a company he started in 1981.

Gary Lengle, Surrey – As the manager of the Energy Products and Services department at Fortis BC (formerly Terasen Gas), Gary and his team provide technical support for the market development of new energy efficiency applications and innovative energy products and services. He is also responsible for the development of the utility Natural Gas Vehicle Program providing vehicle support and coordinating the design, construction, operation and maintenance of alternate fuel facilities. He holds a Special Purpose license for natural gas, LNG and hydrogen including high pressure applications.

Byron Rilling, Delta – Byron has been involved in the mechanical industry for over 30 years, with experience in boilers and gas-fired equipment. An A gas fitter and steamfitter, he currently manages the retrofit department at Professional Mechanical Ltd.

Brian Sweet, Burnaby – Brian teaches the Class A gas fitter certification training at the British Columbia Institute of Technology. Prior to working with BCIT, he was employed as a Class A gas fitter/Burner Service Tech. for CANNEPP, having had the opportunity to work on commercial and industrial burners throughout British Columbia.

Darrick Tisseur, Burnaby – Darrick has been the Principal and Owner of Arete Mechanical since 2004. In addition to his gasfitter qualification, Darrick also has 25 years of experience in the plumbing industry and a diploma in agronomy.

Trevor Todd, British Columbia – Trevor is a Regulatory and Technical Support Representative for Superior Propane.  He is responsible for the development and monitoring of measurement criteria to ensure performance and compliance with the safety programs, operating standards and regulatory authority requirements. A member of the Canadian Society of Safety Engineers and Canadian Propane Association, he has over 20 years of experience in the propane industry.

Phil Wynne, Richmond – Phil is the Supervisor Plumbing/Gas Inspections for the City of Richmond and has been involved in the gas industry for nearly 30 years with emphasis on the installation and inspection of gas systems. He is also a member of the Plumbing Officials Association British Columbia.
